Three African Americans Appointed to Diversity Posts

Sharod L. Tomlinson was recently been named assistant vice president for equity and inclusion/student belonging at St. John’s University in Queens, New York. Dr. Tomlinson has been on the staff at the university since 2016. He previously was the associate dean for student success and engagement was the director of the R.I.S.E. Network and veterans affairs. Dr. Tomlinson is a graduate of John Jay College in New York, where he majored in public administration. He holds a master’s degree in organizational management from The New School in New York and a doctorate in education from St. John’s University. Ron Price has been appointed vice president of the new Division of People, Culture, and Equity at the College of Southern Maryland. His responsibilities will include overseeing the human resources and the organizational development, talent and equity departments. Prior to his new role, Price served as the vice president of human resources and chief diversity officer for Colby-Sawyer College in New Hampshire. Price holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in public administration from the University of Virginia. Sheleta Camarda-Webb  has been named interim chief diversity and inclusion officer at Pennsylvania Western University. She has been with the university’s campus in California, Pennsylvania, for the past three decades, holding a number of different positions including director of multicultural affairs and diversity education; interim chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer; and assistant vice president for assessment and external relations. Camarda-Webb received her bachelor’s degree in social work and master’s degree in secondary education and social science from Pennsylvania Western University California.
